It has been more than six months since Francisco J. Marques first denounced the practices involving the octopus referees. On June 6 the famous e-mail of the priests was revealed, and now they want to be heard…
According to the newspaper Record, “All category C1 referees requested to be heard in the League’s Investigation and Inquiry Committee regarding the e-mails case.”
The threat made by the referees
As they recall, the referees in mid-November had threatened to strike if the mood of suspicion continued after 20 days. The truth is that the atmosphere of distrust has not stopped, Benfica continues to benefit from referee’s errors game after game. Supposedly, the referees promised to strike this weekend, why do not they do it? Was it just a maneuver for people to stop to talk about Benfica? If it was, it was a failed attempt, and indeed, they don’t want to lose their big salary this weekend so that no one will strike.
But, why do they want to be heard now?… Is it another scheme thought by the Octopus?
