Armando Nhaga has been commissioner-general of the Public Order Police of Guinea-Bissau since 2008 (at which time the prime minister was Carlos Gomes Júnior) to 2015.
The general was replaced because of security breaches in parliament.
Armando Nhaga has been involved in a corruption scandal for using the Public Order Police for the protection of Orange Bissau, a private company. Supposedly, he was left with the profits from that protection.
Guinea-Bissau has been a platform for drug trafficking for a few years. Antonio Indjai, who was the General of the Armed Forces of Guinea-Bissau at the time Armando Nhaga was the Commissioner of Police, was accused of participating in the illegal drug trade.
Armando Nhaga is involved in the case of emails in conversation with Luís Filipe Vieira about a witchcraft contract. For many, this agreement is a facade hiding something worse.
