Luís Filipe Vieira said that Benfica organized supporters that were helped by the club didn’t exist.
Nuno Saraiva, the communication director of Sporting, revealed an invoice that seems to be saying the contrary.
According to him, “is the duplicate of an invoice that I received, dated June 17, 2017, passed by Benfica, with the bank account number of Benfica, as well as the recipient, Paulo Jorge Costa Dias, who bought a service to Benfica. He bought a RED PASS, with the following name: Sagres bench, Floor 0, row 12, place 3. With the following designation: “claque NN” [which means the group of supporters No Name Boys] This is written on this invoice … It was passed to a gentleman named Paulo Jorge Costa Dias, a known element of the No Name boys group, at least since 1996. Why? Because he was one of the defendants in the tragically famous case of the very light [where a supporter of Sporting was killed”.
Seriously? No Name Boys exist, and they are supported by Benfica? We never thought of that. (Irony)
The communication director of Sporting continued:
“In addition to this evidence, which of course we will not only get to the police and judicial authorities, but also the IPDJ [Portugueses Institute of Sport and Youth – They are responsible for the regulations regarding the organized supporters, and if the club is helping those fans in some matter they need to be registered on the IPDJ. Benfica helps the supporters, but they don’t have anyone registered. Everybody knows, but nothing happens]. We ask ourselves what do we need more to punish this behavior. Illegal groups of supporters can follow the team with vans paid by Benfica, and have conditions and special prices when buying tickets … After knowing all this, after we see that Vieira meets with the illegal group of supporters, which gives them instructions and makes them requests, after seeing the contradictory statements between Vieira and Rui Vitoria [Rui Vítoria is the coach of Benfica and one time he congratulated those supports as if Benfica supported them]…
Nuno Saraiva continued:
“Vieira has never been to those birthday parties, nor should he remember that he is called Luís Filipe Vieira [Luís Filipe Vieira, President of Benfica, was caught on one birthday party of an organized group of supporters].” Benfica has to be forced not to support those groups or to legalize them. We must say stop to this impunity. What Vieira did in that speech [Luís Filipe Vieira said on a speech that that kind of groups don’t exist in Benfica] was to mock a whole country, the judicial authorities, the IDPJ, the security forces that watch over and guarantee the good behavior of illegal groups of supporters … ”
When will the IPDJ or the authorities react? Even with the death of a Sporting supporter, there were no consequences.
