These statements are related to the investigation of the PJ [Judiciary Police].
Press Release from Porto:
Benfica’s propaganda machine continues to try to stifle and distort the so-called e-mails case.
Because the country deserves to know the truth, without filters, FC Porto is obliged to return to the subject to inform:
1-It is false that FC Porto has been summoned by the Judiciary Police, or by any other entity, to deliver any documentation in this case. This falsehood has been spread by the media that gets intoxicated by versions that aim to distract on the substance that is being investigated.
2-It is a lie that FC Porto had been the target of any searches, as erroneously said the commentator Rui Santos, in the television channel SIC News. This statement is all the more severe for aiming to convey the idea that FC Porto was forced by the authorities to do something, which is not true. And here is the challenge for Rui Santos to confirm this information with the Judicial Police itself and then make the public correction of the false statement.
FC Porto was contacted by the National Anti-Corruption Unit of the Judicial Police because of the ongoing investigation and not due to any complaint by Benfica.
Clear as water, but Benfica, disprove this statement.
Benfica Press Release:
Official Benfica source assured Record that the “FC Porto statement misrepresents the truth”.
“The dispatch of the PJ that determined the delivery of all the material is in the scope and results of the complaint presented by Benfica, this was even the subject of news in several media yesterday. The statement from FC Porto is false”, he said.
He continued: “Benfica will collaborate with all entities, but will no longer comment on processes that from now on are a secret of justice.”
According to Benfica, the facts are news from sports newspapers, such as Record, which Benfica uses to its propaganda?
And he ends with: “but he will no longer comment on lawsuits that from now on are a secret of justice.” Once more trying to silence these denunciations.
